GUM MASTIC THE PLANT
Scientific name: Pistacia Lentiscus.
Description: Evergreen shrub of the Anacardiaceae family, which may also grow to a tree with a height of 3 m.
Origins: The sandy soil of the Mediterranean, from Spain and France to Turkey. Most famous for its therapeutic qualities is the gum mastic that grows on Chios, from which the “Biologos” company draws its essential oil.
GUM MASTIC “BIOLOGOS” ESSENTIAL OIL
Technique: Extracted from the leaves and branches of the plant through steam distillation.
Composition: Contains monoterpenes: a-pinene, myrcene and sampinene, ingredients that ensure the therapeutic qualities of this oil.
Scent: Warm, woody.
Country: Greece.
