BALSAM BASE OIL
Base oils are used either as the necessary carriers that integrate and dilute the essential oils for use in aromatherapy and cosmetology, or on their own purely for cosmetic care. Thus, it is important that they should be 100% pure, just as all the invaluable Base Oils by “Biologos”.
Commonly known as St John’s wort, from the plant Hypericum perforatum. Its use is mentioned by Hippocrates, Galen and Dioscorides. It is produced from balsam of Tinos through cold pressing.
COMPOSITION
Hypericin and hyperforin (substances that influence the increase of serotonin and noradrenaline in the brain), tannins, flavonols.
THERAPEUTIC USE
Due to its exquisite composition and proven beneficial effects it has been named “the balsam of the soul” and during the last few years it has become widespread throughout the world against emotional instability, mental weakness, tension, depression, anxiety disorder and insomnia. It soothes pain and irritation from injury or burn (also sunburn) and its use is allowed for infantsAs a healing and natural anti-inflammatory agent, it helps restore the skin from burns, cold, insect bites, cramps, skin irritation, varicose veins, rheumatic pain, sciatica and hemorrhoids. It is drinkable, it fights headache, bronchitis, asthma, colitis, stomach ailments such as indigestion, ulcer etc. It functions as phlegm expectorant, fights intestinal worm and strengthens the immune system.
